For example, if you have the North American version of Final Fantasy IV and you try to load a save state from the UK version, it won't work. Also, it can only load a save state from a specific game. Note that PPSSPP can only load PPSSPP save states not save states from other emulators.

Now we're jumping into sacrificing graphic quality. PPSSPP is the leading PSP emulator for Android, Windows, Linux, Mac and more. This should be enough to improve performance. Audio is very stuttery The binary is a version of the emulator that is pre-compiled and known to work cfg For more information on custom RetroArch controls see: RetroArch Configuration It will work, and the DS4 program will detect it as well All emulator games work in highest quality available All emulator games work in highest quality available. To enable frameskipping just go to Game Settings > Frameskipping > Auto. Enable frameskippingĮnabling frameskipping will allow you to keep optimal graphics, but animation will no longer be smooth. But if even 1x doesn't help (or looks too ugly), keep reading. All that lowering the resolution does is make the screen look a little blurry and slightly more pixelated. If 3x still doesn't improve your performance, try 2x. You can do so by going to Game Settings > Rendering Resolution > 3x. You can force PPSSPP to always render in a lower resolution.

Settings > saving > and turning don't overwrite saveram when loading savestate to on Retroarch save states seem to save a snapshot of the memory card as well? I was looking at a couple reddit posts of people with similarish problems and I seen a potential fix posted was going to: Every emulator I've used prior to this, when you make a save to the internal memory card the saves are always there regardless of if you save or load a state. Now if I load a save state prior to having made the save to the internal PS1 memory card, all internal saves that were made after that save state was loaded are gone. So I'm playing thru Parasite Eve currently, if I make a save file to the internal memory card, everything behaves as intended. I've been messing around with the PS1 Beetle PSX core and ran into a frustrating issue that I don't think I've ever experienced on any other emulator I've ever tried.

So I've always had problems with Retroarch as an emulator because of the UI on PC for navigating the menus, while relatively well designed for phones kind of sucks on the PC IMO. If it's not I apologize but I'm looking for some help with this issue, if it can't be fixed maybe some alternative PS1 emulators that have options to fix PGXP. I'm not sure if this is the appropriate place to post this.
